TWEEDMOUTH’s Mitsubishi dealership was in the company of two of the UK’s most celebrated rugby stars as it announced its plans to help Alnwick Rugby Club literally get into top gear through Mitsubishi Motors’ national Kit 4 Clubs initiative.

Tweedmouth Service Station, located on Tweedside Industrial Estate, underlined its commitment to Alnwick Rugby Club at a special Kit 4 Clubs event held at the club’s Greensfield ground, which was also attended by international rugby legends Phil Vickery and Andy Nicol.

As part of a national campaign to raise awareness of the Kit 4 Clubs programme, the iconic duo travelled to the evening in a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross – the latest model to be launched by Mitsubishi Motors – and brought along the priceless Calcutta Cup that is awarded to the winner of the annual Six Nations Championship match between England and Scotland. The pair also presented the club with a host of new kit during the evening to get the Kit 4 Clubs campaign off to a flying start.

Through the programme, the dealership will provide Alnwick Rugby Club with a £30 credit for each vehicle appraisal and test drive taken by a member of the club. When a total of £300 is ‘banked’ through test drives, the Mitsubishi dealership will convert the amount into kit for Alnwick Rugby Club.

Michael Deans, Managing Director of Tweedmouth Service Station, said: “We’re delighted to strengthen our support of Alnwick Rugby Club by having them as our nominated club for the Mitsubishi Motors Kit 4 Clubs initiative.

“The club really puts everything into their performance and we’re looking forward to helping them achieve even more success on the pitch. We couldn’t have hoped for a better night to show our support too, and it was fantastic to meet Phil and Andy and see how passionate they are about Kit 4 Clubs. I was definitely a bit nervous sitting next to the Calcutta Cup though!”
