‘Green’ hybrid Mitsubishi helps grow grandmother’s garden
A KNOWSTONE grandmother’s decision to drive a more environmentally-friendly, hybrid Mitsubishi is set to help her garden bloom in more ways than one.
Mary Dalton, 76, bought her Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) from Devonshire Motors in Barnstaple and as well as being kinder to the environment with low CO2 emissions, it’s also seen her win £500 worth of gardening vouchers in a national competition run by Mitsubishi Motors in the UK.
After purchasing the best-selling SUV in September from the Braunton Road dealership, ex-dairy farmer Mary also opted for a hassle-free service plan to cover the regular maintenance. When Devonshire Motors carried out the first service of her 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV in October, she instantly qualified for the competition that was open to anyone who had their Mitsubishi serviced or repaired at a main Mitsubishi dealer from October to December.
On winning the vouchers, Mary said: “I was very surprised and the news came at the perfect time as the last few months have been quite challenging. I’m a very keen gardener so the vouchers certainly won’t go to waste.
“My husband and I have had Mitsubishis in the past, including a seven-seat Delica which was a special import from Japan, but we were completely new to Devonshire Motors until last year. They looked after us very well and they’ve always been helpful.”
Phil Wells, After Sales Manager, Devonshire Motors, said: “We’re delighted that one of our customers has won the national competition, especially as Mary is certain to put them to good use. We hope she enjoys spending the vouchers and we look forward to being of service to her in the future.”
