Tweedmouth Service Station the first to hit Kit 4 Clubs target
TWEEDMOUTH Service Station has kicked off Mitsubishi Motors’ national Kit 4 Clubs initiative in fine style by providing Berwick Rugby Club with over £500 worth of credit towards new kit.
The dealership, located on the Tweedside Industrial Estate, is the first in the entire Mitsubishi retail network to provide a local rugby club with sports equipment through the new scheme, which provides a £30 credit for each vehicle appraisal and test drive taken by a member of the nominated club. When a total of £300 is ‘banked’ through test drives, the Mitsubishi dealership converts the amount into kit for its chosen club.
Tweedmouth Service Station donated £510 of kit to Berwick Rugby Club following 17 players and staff getting behind the wheel of a new Mitsubishi. Helping the dealership to smash the £300 target, a number of the appointments came as a result of Tweedmouth Service Station choosing to host its launch of the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross at the club’s Scremerston ground.
The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross launch event coincided with the club’s home clash with Portobello and also the presentation of a league trophy to Berwick Rugby Club for its success in the Mitsubishi Motors Schools & Youth Conferences. As part of its partnership with Scotland Rugby Union, Mitsubishi Motors sponsors the differing conferences – all of which are named after a past or present Mitsubishi vehicle – and Berwick Rugby Club won the ‘Evolution’ league.
Michael Deans, Managing Director of Tweedmouth Service Station, presented the trophy to the club. He said: “It’s a privilege to be associated with Berwick Rugby Club and they’ve put in an astounding performance to lift the ‘Evolution’ Conference trophy.
“We’re delighted to be able to provide them with over £500 worth of equipment through Kit 4 Clubs and the club’s passion for Mitsubishi has not only helped us to help them, but has contributed to a fantastic start for the national campaign and our own commitment to the Kit 4 Clubs scheme. We look forward to seeing how the new kit will drive them onto even greater success.”
