Rugby star tackles the Eclipse Cross at Station Garage’s launch event
A STAR of Scotland Rugby helped Station Garage Mitsubishi of Torphins to launch the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in style and even tried the striking new SUV for size himself.
Willem Nel, prop for Scotland Rugby and Edinburgh, was on hand to announce the winners of one of the two prize draws held during the weekend event, which took place at Meldrum House Country Hotel and Golf Course, and meet the 200 attendees who came along to see the Eclipse Cross in the metal.
He was also one of nearly 100 guests of the Mitsubishi dealership who took the opportunity to drive the Eclipse Cross. All test drive participants had the chance to win a pair of tickets to see the Scotland versus France Six Nations Rugby match on Sunday February 11, at BT Murrayfield. In all, five pairs of match tickets were given away, including a pair to former Dyce RUFC fullback Richard Wilkinson who won his tickets in a radio competition run by Original 106FM.
Those who got behind the wheel were able to choose from a quartet of examples with manual and CVT automatic transmissions, while a further three Eclipse Cross, including the striking First Edition version, were on display in the hotel’s ballroom. There was also a line-up of 10 other models from the current Mitsubishi range.
Bob Shepherd, Station Garage founder and Dealer Principal said of the event “It’s been a great success, one of the most successful launches we have held for many years. Thank you to all my staff for their hard work and enthusiasm and to the Meldrum House Hotel staff who looked after us and all our guests so well.
“We have eight confirmed orders taken over the weekend, seven Eclipse Cross and one Shogun, and many more leads to follow up. All in all, it’s been a super weekend.”.
