LEADING figures from the UK’s motoring press are this week putting the all-new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross through its paces.

The UK press launch of the distinctive SUV encompasses a series of regional events held in Berkshire, Derbyshire & Scotland.

Attending the launch are representatives from motoring magazines and websites together with correspondents from national and regional newspapers. In total, over 70 journalists will get behind the wheel of the exciting new addition to the Mitsubishi model range.

Following a 40-minute presentation, delivered by Lance Bradley, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, and Toby Marshall, Sales and Marketing Director, attendees have the opportunity to drive the Eclipse Cross in both automatic and manual transmission guises.

A varied road route of over 60 miles at each location allows journalists to fully experience the performance, handling and ride of two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions. Models available to drive are the top-of-the-range Eclipse Cross 4 and the First Edition.

After the first day, there was a great deal of positive feedback. Notably, many journalists were complimentary towards the eight-step CVT automatic transmission, commenting that it was far superior to a traditional CVT gearbox, and the bold appearance of the Eclipse Cross.
