THE managing director of Blackshaws Mitsubishi is set to raise a four-figure sum for a homeless charity by taking part in the CEO Sleepout.

Will Blackshaw, who opened the Morpeth-based dealership in March last year, will swap his briefcase for a sleeping bag on the night of Monday 20th November when he takes part in the Northumberland event of the nationwide CEO Sleepout.

He will join other business leaders from across the region who will sleep rough for the night in Alnwick Gardens to help the CEO Sleepout charity fight poverty and homelessness.

Will said: “I’ve run the Great North Run four times for charity, but haven’t done anything like this before. It was a bit of a spur of the moment decision and it’s a great way to help and highlight those who at this time of year face even more difficulty.

“I haven’t dared look at the weather forecast, but we’ll all be there no matter how cold or wet it is – just like the people who sleep on the street every night. To be honest, you very rarely think about those who aren’t lucky enough to have a bed and I’m hoping that by doing my bit I’ll be able to raise well over £1,000 for the charity.”
