A MITSUBISHI dealership in Chesterfield has supported a 10k night walk to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield.

Gilder Mitsubishi, in Tapton Lock, provided a L200 Series 5 for the charity’s Night Strider event, which saw more than a thousand people take part.

It helped keep walkers safe as they made their way through Sheffield’s busy city centre, and supported any in need of a breather along the route.

And as a way of encouragement, the vehicle was covered in good luck messages from staff at St Luke’s Hospice, thanking walkers for their incredible support once again.

Daniel Wheeldon, sales manager at Gilder Mitsubishi, said: “We really like getting involved in the local community and as we have recently extended the Gilder Mitsubishi name into Sheffield, we decided to extend our reach into the city and support another worthwhile cause.

“With the amount of walkers taking part, the L200 was the perfect vehicle to help make sure the event was run as smoothly as possible. We look forward to being involved in another event which will help make a big difference.”

Joasia Lesniak, corporate fundraising manager at St Luke’s Hospice, said: “The Night Strider is one of our biggest fundraising events of the year and we were delighted that Gilder Mitsubishi came on board and supported us in this way.

“The vehicle looked incredible and really played its part in making the event another roaring success. We hope this will be the start of a great working partnership.”

Gilder Mitsubishi is a keen supporter of charitable causes. The dealership is an on-going partner of Ashgate Hospicecare, a charity that provides care to more than 2,000 patients across North Derbyshire a year.

Gilder has lent the hospice a number of vehicles and staff have raised thousands of pounds through various fundraisers.
