THE Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials are just around the corner and it kicks off a busy few months for the events team at Mitsubishi Motors in the UK.

We caught up with Angela Osman, the Events and Sponsorship Manager for Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, to look at some of the great shows coming up.

Mitsubishi Brand Ambassadors Olympic equestrian Mary King MBE and her daughter Emily will be signing autographs at Badminton, as will another Brand Ambassador, celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager.

The event, from Wednesday, May 7th, to Sunday, May 11th, will be a busy time for the team and the staff from Mitsubishi Dealer of the Year, Firs Garage, in Hook Norton, who will be manning the stand.

Angela said: “A lot of planning goes into Badminton and I’ll be able to relax at the end, after Prize Giving. It’s a huge event for us and working with Dean Wood from Firs Garage is great because he sells to the equestrian, hunting, shooting and fishing market everyday. His customers are the people at Badminton so he speaks their language.”

Later in the month there’s the One Big Show, a Motability event at Event City in Manchester on May 16th and 17th, where Mitsubishi Motors will be displaying an Outlander, ASX and Mirage. A similar event takes place in Exeter on July 26th.

The team will then join Livery Dole Mitsubishi, who took the runner-up spot in the Dealer of the Year Award, at the Devon County Show on May 22nd to 24th.

Angela said: “The Devon County Show is celebrating 25 years at the Westpoint showground this year and around 95,000 people are expected so it should be a great event. It’s a great show to start our portfolio of agricultural events and Livery Dole are very involved and supportive. It’s an ideal opportunity for Livery Dole to maximize their sales and meet with prospects and existing customers.”

After that they have the Suffolk Show on May 28th and 29th with Glyn Hopkin Mitsubishi, where more than 700 trade stands will be on show for the 86,000 visitors at the county’s biggest two-day event.

“Mitsubishi have previously won an award for the Best Trade Stand at the Suffolk Show so we will be doing our best to win that again,” Angela said. “Glyn Hopkin are a relatively new Mitsubishi dealer and it’s another great opportunity for them to prospect.”

The events team end the month with the Mitsubishi Motors 40th Anniversary Grand Tour on May 31st which celebrates the company’s fourth decade in the UK.

A range of Mitsubishi models manufactured before 2001 will start from Rendcomb Airfield in Gloucestershire, before following a scenic route through the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire and then Northamptonshire.

After stopping at a number of checkpoints, the route takes participants to the home of Silverstone Circuit for lunch in the new ‘Wing’ building. In the afternoon, entrants will visit Cornbury Park and pass Mitsubishi’s UK headquarters at Cirencester on their way back to Rendcomb Airfield for the finish.

Angela said: “The Grand Tour is a great way to round off a busy month and we’re really looking forward to it. And if any dealers or Mitsubishi owners want to take part they still have until May 6th to sign up.”
